Predatory Journal Flagger for Google Scholar is a browser extension designed to help users identify potentially predatory journals in Google Scholar search results. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting it.
Information We Collect
This extension does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information.
How the Extension Works
- The extension analyzes the content of Google Scholar pages locally in your browser.
- It uses a built-in list of known predatory journals and compares it to the search results.
- It may fetch the HTML content of linked article pages to extract journal metadata, but this is done locally and no data is sent to any external server.
Data Storage
- The extension may store user preferences (such as allowlisted journals) using Chrome’s
storage.syncAPI. - All data remains on your device and is not shared with third parties.
Third-Party Services
This extension does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.
